Our business is a blend of the farmer meets the herbalist, but it didn’t start out that way. We met back in 2011 at her family’s restaurant in North Jersey. I walked in to see if they were hiring bartenders, and sure enough I got the job. Little did we know that from that moment on, our lives would be so intertwined. Through the years we became co-workers, then best friends, and now we are business partners running our dream business! It has been a wild ride to say the least, and boy do we have stories! As young bartenders we were not very health conscious during those years. We were in our young, adventurous, and  “you only live once” phase of our lives. It wasn’t until I became pregnant with my first son that I accidentally fell into the rabbit hole of toxic ingredients. It was never on my radar. I read an article about a popular baby brand containing harmful ingredients that cause cancer among many other side effects. I was alarmed, and proceeded to dig deeper into that rabbit hole. I found that no other countries allow what our FDA allows in the United States. Europe bans over 1,400 ingredients backed by scientific evidence that they are detrimental to our health, and the U.S bans less than 20. From that moment on at 6 months pregnant I went around my house and threw all of my soaps, lotions, perfumes, deodorants, cleansers, in the trash where I felt they belonged. I had no idea what to use in place of everything I just threw out, so I had to learn. I didn’t want just any homemade alternative, I wanted it to be safe, beneficial, and actually work! ​ ​ Friends of mine including Erica, would get sick, I would put together a care package, and drop it off. I was eager to share my knowledge of herbal remedies, and show how easy it was to replace harmful pharmaceuticals that suppress the immune system. That started my love of all things health and wellness. Friends and family would complain about arthritis, carpal tunnel, psoriasis, etc., and I would create a product for that. I was the strange new mom with the homemade sunscreen, that people would go to because my homemade products, and remedies actually worked. I became extremely passionate about teaching anyone that wanted to know better, and do better. I feel that our health is our responsibility, and we should never allow it to be in the hands of big corporations that do not make decisions based on our best interest. Erica called me one day feeling extremely stressed about work, and suggested we combine forces and start a business! One, because she loved the products I was making, and really believed in them! And two, at the very same time, Erica was growing more and more interested in organic gardening, focusing on traditional farming methods, and sustainable farming technique. What if we could provide people with alternative options to their every day products. And imagine one day also being able to provide the herbs for all of those products! It was divine timing. I have dreamt of starting this business, but as a mom of two who does all of the things, including home schooling 2 kids, I knew I couldn’t do it alone. So naturally, we jumped all in!
