Spice Apple, Pear Sangria
1 Granny Smith Apple
1 Barlet Pear
1 vanilla bean split open
3 cinnamon sticks
5 or 6 allspice berries
2 star anise
1/2 a tbsp cloves
2 cups water
1 cup light brown sugar
Instructions:
Cut apple and pears into wedges or cubes
Add all fruit and dry ingredients to a pot or saucepan with 1/2 cup of water to start and put on medium
Let everything caramelize for about 3 mins stirring regularly as not to burn
Add rest of water ...1 cup ...turn to high
When it starts to simmer Add the 1 cup lt brown sugar and stir for 30 seconds
Reduce to medium heat and let it simmer on low for 10 to 12 mins or until liquid becomes thicker and is reduced to 1 to 1.5 cups
After 12 mins Let cool then strain with cheesecloth, coffee filter, or strainer, and squeeze fruit and contents out into a jar.
Sangria Recipe
2oz Sauvignon Blanc (or desired White White)
1oz Brandy
1oz of spiced apple pear syrup
1oz Apple Cider
1/2 oz lemon juice or squeeze 1 lemon wedge
Fill glass with ice & shake with a cocktail shaker
Top with sparkling water or prosecco
Rim the glass with Caramel and dip in coconut sugar & ceylon cinnamon rim
Garnish with dehydrated Pear, or Apple Chip.
